There are 8 units required for this qualification and 4 of these units include the assessment units, which complies with AQTF2007 requirements if you are conducting assessments for accredited courses

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE?

Those individuals wishing to deliver training and assessments for nationally endorsed units or qualifications within a registered training organisation.

QUALIFICATION INFORMATION:

This course is delivered completely on-line (or by correspondence). Upon successful completion of this short course you will achieve a nationally accredited and recognised statement of attainment in partial recognition of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This statement will recognise the skills and knowledge you have obtained.

Units to be completed and learning outcomes:

To achieve the statement of attainment you need to complete 8 units.

8 units:

  • TAADEL301C: Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills
  • TAADEL403B: Facilitate individual learning
  • TAADEL404B: Facilitate work-based learning
  • TAAENV401B: Work effectively in vocational education and training
  • TAAASS401C: Plan and organise assessment
  • TAAASS402C: Assess competence 
  • TAAASS403B: Develop Assessment tools
  • TAAASS404B: Participate in Assessment validation

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

This course is delivered completely on-line (or by correspondence); therefore there are no fixed enrolment dates. You enrol and commence your course at a time and place suitable for you. There are no classroom dates and times that you need to factor in to your busy work schedule.

Once enrolled you have 12 months to complete your qualification. We envisage it will take much shorter to achieve your qualification; you are in control of when and how you complete this.

Total nominal hours: 120 hours

Envisage approx hours for each unit: 20 hours (2+ combined units 30 hours)

It is hard to estimate how long each unit will take as it depends on your previous experience in this area. 20 hours a unit is a generous estimate.

COURSE COST:

The full cost for this course is: $1400. Pay upfront now and you will receive a 10% discount of $140! So you will only pay $1260

You can reduce this even further if you have credit transfers for any of the competencies that make up this qualification.

ASSESSMENT PATHWAYS including Recognition of Prior Learning

Assessments require students to apply their knowledge and skills within a fictional or actual work environment. A fictional workplace is provided online to assist with completing some of the assessments to determine underpinning knowledge and skill.

Types of assessment tasks take the form of:

  • Questionnaires
  • Case Study tasks
  • Portfolio’s

Assessments are conducted on-line and submitted via the learning management system (LMS) or can be mailed into Connect training group for assessment.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

If you feel you already have competence in any of the units needing to be completed within this qualification, you can apply to have these skills recognised through the RPL process.

Mapping guides and information are provided in all courses as well as on the website. All evidence must accompany the application mapping guides as per Connect training group RPL policy which is detailed in the student handbook.

Evidence of work experience can be used in your RPL application. A formal interview also forms part of your RPL process

Direct Credit Transfer

You may also be eligible for exemption for previous study if you have a statement of attainment or certificate for previous study which has been issued by an accredited Registered Training Organisations. Certified copies of the original evidence must accompany your application as well as proof of currency, e.g. resume or contact details of referee as per Connect Training Groups’ policies.

You can receive a $100 discount on the cost of your course for each unit you achieve a credit transfer for.

PRE-REQUISITES including Language Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however you will need: 

  • Access to a computer with internet connection
  • Access to a training environment or workplace to conduct assessment tasks
  • Access to a video camera to record you training and assessing a group of clients. (There are other options available for this assessment requirement)
  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course, e.g.:
       
    • Ability to interpret and comprehend written information to develop assessment content and processes
    • Language skills to provide clear information/instructions and to give receive and interpret feedback to the necessary level between assessor and client group.
